Q: How is the rental arranged? A: Potential renters will contact you directly to set up the vacation time at your accommodation.
Q: Can realtors or rental agencies list properties with rentyourgetaway.com? A: Yes. As a vacation rental agency you may list properties with us.
Q: Do I need to have a website to get listed here? A: No. You don’t have to have your own website or Internet access to get listed. With rentyourgetaway.com rentals directory your rental property is always on the internet without any of the troubles of creating and maintaining your own website.

Q: If I already have a website, could I have a link to it on my listing? A: Yes you can add a link to your website in your listing.
Q: How long will my listing appear on rentyourgetaway.com rentals directory? A: Your listing will appear for as long as you have selected to be listed, or until you decide to remove it.
Q: What happens to my listing at the end of my posting period? A: You will have the opportunity to renew your listing and remain on the directory for as long as you wish.

Q: How quickly will my cottage rental listing be added to the Directory? A: Your listing will be added instantly to our directory. It may take up to 24 hours for approval of your listing in order to be visible by potential renters.
Q: Can I access my account to update my listing information? A: You can access your account at any time by logging in with your username and password provided by us at the time of user registration. Login button is located at the top of each page called Owners Login.
Q: What kind of vacation property photos should I add to my listing? A: You may add up to 8 property photos to your listing. Select pictures that will give potential renters a good idea of your property. For example, choosing one of the interior and one of the exterior are very effective. Horizontal 4x6 pictures, and Digital photos tend to work best.
Q: How often should I update the availability of my rental property? A: Anytime there is any change in the availability of your cottage it would benefit you to update your listing with us.
Q: What if I lost or forgot my password or username! A: No problem, with your account email address you can use our convenient online form and we will email your password to you. Click here to use retrieve your password.
Q: How do I view properties? A: To view a property, navigate to the area you are interested in starting on our front page. A list of properties will be shown along with several icons showing the most popular amenities for each property. Rates are also shown by default. Click the title of the property to see the details for that property.
Q: What can I do to protect myself from Abuse/Fraud? A: Abuse/Fraud is extremely rare in our industry. Although 99.99% of all transactions between renters and owners run flawlessly, rare problems do sometimes exist. If you are the victim of Fraud/Abuse from a listing found on our directory please report it to us by email: info@rentyourgetaway.com.
Q: SPAM: What is "SPAM"? A: SPAM is an unsolicited commercial e-mail usually advertising a product or service. Usually, it is undesirable and is similar to "junk mail" received at your home or business via standard postal mail.
Q: I received a suspicious email, what do I do? A: Usually emails with poor grammar, spelling, odd use of capital letters and/or asking you to wire money or participate in an unusual bank transaction is a scam. The sender is usually attempting to obtain money, personal information or your email address. Q: I received a SPAM email, what do I do? A: Unsolicited commercial e-mail (SPAM) is prohibited from being sent through our system. We apologize that it was sent to you. Q: Renter Overpayment Scam, What is it? A: Scammers will send you an inquiry, which may seem legitimate, but at some point suggest they send you more than your rental fees and ask you wire back the difference. The check they send you will be a fake, but usually takes the bank several weeks to catch it. By then, you have wired the difference back and will be unable to recover what you have sent. In some instances, the bad check will even clear your bank initially. We suggest you insist on exact payment, however, if you do accept an overpayment, wait at least 30 days before returning any funds. If you receive a suspicious inquiry mentioning that a third party (a business, assistant, or someone who owes them money) is going to send an overpayment, we recommend that you delete the inquiry without responding. Q: What is Featured Rental AD and how do I get one? A: Featured Rental Ads are featured vacation listing ads located on our main page (Home Page) that link to your vacation rental listing. For a limited time these ads are included with your FREE listing. Featured rentals help to generate a large amount of inquiries and bookings simply because they are posted on the main page of our website and have a direct link to your listing for maximum exposure. Each featured rental will be seen by hundreds of visitors as it is placed on the welcome page.
Q: What is a Link Ad? A: Link AD is a space on our main page (Home Page) of our website for advertisers to list their websites or featured vacation rental listings. For a limited time these ads are included with your FREE listing. Link Ads have the potential to generate a large amount of inquiries and bookings.
